Here at Café Strata, you can enjoy Hamilton’s most extensive range of in-house baked café fare, including our famous all day breakfast menu and our large range of fresh and frozen normal and gluten-free menu items, for both dine in and takeaway options, seven days a week from around 7am.
We have an expansive covered courtyard with attractive gardens for your relaxation and a very large car park - that is free of charge to our customers.
Our café is situated at Gate 2, 13 Thackeray St, Hamilton, in the Anglesea Medical Complex. We are directly behind the ASB Bank. Come on in to New Zealand’s only hot air balloon themed Café and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, the largest courtyard in town, heaps of free parking, and wonderful Vittoria coffee seven days a week.

About Us
Cafe Strata is proudly owned and operated by John & Dianne Pepper. The Café’s hot air ballooning theme comes from the name “Strata” which refers to the scientific term for layers of clouds in the sky. Café Strata has a genuine hot air balloon pilot on-site full time who is always happy to chat about his passion. Any interested parties wanting rides should get in contact with John, as he can certainly point them in the right direction.
